In this panoramic view, Highway 82 crosses the summit of Independence Pass at an elevation of 12,095 feet, one of the highest paved roads in the US. Choose a realistic section, then allow time for viewpoints, a town stop and breaks. Scenic mileage rarely tells the whole story of how long an outing will take.
