Explore America’s national parks.

This American Tour Association directory includes the 63 designated national parks listed by the National Park Service, including those in American Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It also includes two scenic parkways, identified separately: Blue Ridge Parkway and Natchez Trace Parkway.

The wider National Park System has many other designations, including national monuments, historic sites, lakeshores and seashores. Those are not included in the count of 63 national parks. Sequoia and Kings Canyon are separate national parks, even though they share an NPS website and management.

Geography and gateways

Multistate parks appear under each applicable state. Gateway towns and areas are suggestions for orienting a visit; they are not precise entrance directions. Remote and island parks require different transport arrangements from road-accessible parks.

Planning your visit

The park pages offer ideas for exploring rather than live booking availability. Use the official NPS links for current roads, facilities, alerts, fees, passes, reservations and permits. The directory research was prepared in October 2026.
